What we collect
We collect information only when you provide it voluntarily:
Email address — when you sign up for one of our newsletters.
Name, organization, email, and message — when you submit an inquiry through our contact form.
Inquiry type — when you indicate the nature of your inquiry (speaking, journals and tools, licensing, media, or author).
This site is intended for professional and adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to send the newsletters you request, to respond to your inquiries, and to operate and improve the site. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not use it for advertising.
Email and newsletters
Our email communications are managed through MailerLite, which processes and stores subscriber data on our behalf and maintains its own privacy policy. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link; you can leave the list at any time with one click, and your information will be removed from our active mailing list.
Cookies and analytics
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect basic analytics data (such as page views and country of origin) to support site performance and security. We do not use tracking cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party advertising tools. Embedded forms may set cookies to support form functionality and prevent duplicate submissions. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when fonts load.
How long we keep your information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected — including newsletter delivery, responding to inquiries, consent records, and legal or business recordkeeping. When personal information is no longer required, it is securely deleted, de-identified, or anonymized. A detailed retention schedule governs internal practice.
Practice & Research and the Practice Lab
The Calm Edge™ Practice & Research programme and the forthcoming Practice Lab are not operated through this website’s standard forms. Participation in surveys, reflection activities, interviews, or Practice Lab pilots involves separate, specific consent that explains what is collected, how it is used, who can access it, and how it is retained or deleted. Where organizational reporting is provided, it is limited to aggregate, de-identified themes, subject to minimum cohort-size thresholds and suppression where individuals could be identified. These activities are designed for leadership development and facilitated learning and are not clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic, employment-evaluation, or performance-management activities.
Service providers
We use third-party service providers (for example, email, form, and hosting tools) that process limited personal information on our behalf under their own terms. Some of our service providers (for example, MailerLite, Cloudflare, and Google) may store or process limited personal information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We remain accountable for personal information transferred to our service providers for processing. We de-identify research input before any technology-assisted (AI) analysis; identifying information is not entered into these tools and is not included in public insight summaries.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at hello@kalmcompass.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We will not materially change how we use your information without giving notice.
